Airsoft Gear

VestMost airsoft competitions require players wear certain types of gear, both for realistic playing conditions and for safety.  These items range from full battle dress uniforms (BDU) to camouflage clothing typically worn by hunters, to combat boots, and specific types of eyewear.   Check with the group that you normally compete with to see if there are certain items, or simply certain styles, required.

Here are some of the most common requirements:

  • Goggles – Literally every group requires specialized goggles to protect your eyes from injury.
  • BDU – Full battle dress uniforms are often required for realistic play
  • Camouflage shirts & pants – Camouflage, even if not required, is often a great option for an airsoft player.  The camouflage will help to conceal your position during competitions, thereby giving you a definite edge over a player who is not similarly dressed.
  • Combat style boots – Again, even if not required, combat style, or good outdoor boots make for a much more comfortable playing experience.
  • Load bearing vests, belts, or jackets – As a serious airsoft player, you will find that you need some type of load bearing gear to carry extra ammunition, batteries, cartridges, etc.

The list of airsoft gear that you want or need can be extensive, especially if you’re playing in a rural environment, participating in competitions that last days, or seeking an extremely realistic experience in your airsoft play.   Many items have been included in our Online Store, or you can browse the full selection of airsoft gear at Amazon.com!
